Murray to Tigers: ‘Hopefully we can strive to be one of the top sides for 2023’

Tweed Seagulls lock Charlie Murray will call the Tigers his new home, agreeing to terms until the end of the 2024 season.

Responsible for knocking out his new team in the 2022 Hostplus Cup finals series, new recruit Murray comes to the Tigers after spending the past two seasons with Tweed.

He notched up fifteen (15) Hostplus Cup games, scoring one try.

Speaking of his move to the Tigers, the 21-year-old said “The opportunity to play under Matt Church and lock down a role in the 17 with a new look squad is a great opportunity to grow and test myself.”

“I’m looking forward to building together as a group and putting together a strong finals campaign.”

“Hopefully we can strive to be one of the top sides for 2023 and continue to be a successful club.”

Murray will join Solomona Faataape and Max Lehmann for Melbourne Storm’s pre-season as a part of the club’s feeder club allocation.

“The chance to train with the Melbourne Storm for pre-season to learn my craft and grow as a player was also significant.”

“I’m looking forward to bettering myself and to bring that knowledge and those successful values back to the Tigers”, Murray added.

Welcome to the Tigers family Charlie, aka. Muzz!
