Lachlan is most looking forward to investing greater time & resources into our pathways programs to align with the club’s focus on establishing clear & structured development plans for both players & staff. He is excited by the opportunity to work across the female program for his first time at the Tigers, as he sees it as a growth area in the wider community and here at the club. He sees a lot of potential to create an environment that produces quality humans & athletes with the goal of on field success.
Josh Smith – RISING Community Coordinator
Josh steps up to continue to grow the RISING Community Program alongside RISING Ambassadors Maria and Nat, and off the back of the work done by the founding members of the program, Yvonne O’Neill and Ryley Jacks.
Josh is most looking forward to being able to work in the community and to connect with the program’s students, educating and assisting them through their lives whilst sharing his story, his challenges and his successes.

Hostplus Cup Update
Matt Church, Hostplus Cup Head Coach, provides an update on the Hostplus Cup pre-season so far: “A few weeks into preseason and looking around the squad there is a real good feeling about the group. They are connecting well, working hard and challenging each other. For me as their coach, I am excited about the quality of character and the depth of the squad that we have assembled. It’s going to be tough job when we have to start making selections.
What has really got me excited, is how our staff have approached their roles and this preseason. They have enjoyed more input into our program, their enthusiasm into becoming better is infectious and they are really leaning into their roles and our playing group.”

Pathways Update
All of our four Junior Representative teams have started their preseasons mid November. They have all arrived at training with great attitudes and are all looking to prepare as well as they can for the upcoming season.
Each team’s Head Coach has remained onboard from last year’s season. This is a massive advantage and it shows with the way training has started so smoothly. Our Junior Rep coaches consist of Kim Bray (HN17’s), Damien Pratt (HN19’S), Farren Mahoney (CCU17’s) and Ben Weston (MM U19’s).
The players are looking to improve their game heading into the Christmas break. Then, after the break, they will shift focus to prepare for trails in January, with the season kicking off in February.

Easts Junior - A Heartfelt Thank You to Peter Talbot.
It’s with mixed emotions that we announce the departure of Peter Talbot as President of Easts Tigers after five incredible years of leadership. Peter’s journey with the club began in 2018 when he transferred his son, Ethan, to play at Easts. Little did we know, this would mark the start of an extraordinary commitment to our community.
Peter’s commitment was not only as a proud parent but also as a key sponsor through his business, All Hydraulics and Estimating, from 2019 to 2022. His support extended far beyond business, as he volunteered his time and expertise as a Level 1 Sports Trainer for the team. In recognition of his tireless efforts, Peter was honoured with our prestigious Club Person of the Year award—an acknowledgment of his passion and service to the club. In 2019, Peter became a vital member of our committee as Club Secretary, all while continuing his work as a Level 2 Sports Trainer, offering his skills to any team that needed them.
In 2020, Peter was elected as our President, a position he held through 2024. Throughout his time as President, he also continued to serve as Club Secretary (2020 & 2021), balancing both roles with exceptional knowledge, commitment, and leadership. Under his guidance, the club has flourished, and Peter’s legacy of service, kindness, and hard work will be felt for years to come. Peter, your leadership and dedication have been invaluable, and we are deeply grateful for everything you’ve done for Easts. We wish you all the best in your future endeavours and hope you’ll continue to stay involved in some capacity.
Thank you, Peter, for all the years of service you’ve given Easts

RISING Community Program Update
This term has been a lot of fun! As RISING continued to make an impact across eight schools in the southwestern corridor of Brisbane from Villanova College to Browns Plains State High, all the way out to Laidley State High. The RISING ambassadors engaged with students through a variety of exciting events and educational sessions.
It was great to see students working hard throughout the term to complete their RISING journals, setting goals, planning their weeks, reviewing their week and participating in activities and challenges.
One of the standout moments was welcoming a total of over 200 students to Totally Workwear Stadium at different times throughout the term from a range of schools including Villanova College, Goodna SS, Laidley State High and Coorparoo Secondary School. This gave students and schools a chance to experience the atmosphere of a semi-professional sporting venue and its facilities, enhancing their connection to the program and providing them all with a day out participating in a range of sporting activities to celebrate their achievements during the program. Most recently, Laidley State High School attended, and it was great to see the students participating with our RISING ambassadors.
RISING also had the opportunity to connect with the broader community by attending events such as the Goodna Gala Day, Brisbane Tigers Christmas Carols, Bundamba Football Clinic, and The Murri School Awards Ceremony.
At the Goodna Gala Day, students were able to explore a diverse range of professional pathways, broadening their aspirations and understanding of future career opportunities.
The RISING Community Program staff members were also honoured to attend the 2024 Murri School Year 6 Graduation, celebrating the remarkable achievements and growth of students who participated in the RISING program throughout the year.
These events have provided invaluable opportunities to engage with students and witness their personal development—not only over this term but across the entire year. The RISING Ambassador’s are proud to be part of their journey and look forward to continuing to support the students in 2025!
While the program has just finished its second year and has grown and evolved throughout the year, and would like to thank our term 4 schools, students and staff for buying into the program and are excited to see what opportunities are ahead in 2025!
