Bain signs with Tigers after RLWC campaign

Fresh off his first Rugby League World Cup (RLWC) campaign with Scotland, the Suzuki Brisbane Tigers are pleased to welcome Luke Bain to our 2023 Hostplus Cup squad.

Born in New Hampshire, USA, Bain started out playing soccer in his junior years before he was kicked off the team for tackling too hard.

The 22-year old, Bathurst Panthers junior was then lured to rugby league by a close family friend and never looked back.

Bain spent his 2022 season with the Parramatta Eels, playing eight games in their NSW Cup side, scoring one try.

Speaking of his move to the Tigers, Bain said “After speaking to the Coach I was sold on coming to the Tigers after gaining and understanding of the rich history and ambitions of the Club”.

“I’m most excited to come and meet the playing group, learn from the coaching staff and to help contribute to a winning season”.

“I know I will bring a strong work ethic and sense of leadership to the team”.

“I’ve been on premiership winning teams and believe I can help bring a winning culture to the Tigers”.

He also credits the experience he has now gained from playing against the best players in the world at the RLWC.

“Playing in the World Cup for Scotland was a great experience. I’m really grateful that I got a chance to represent my heritage”.

“It certainly meant a lot to my family, as my Dad and his parents were born in Scotland”.

“It was also a great experience getting to play against some of the best footy players in the world and I was able to draw confidence from the tournament after being able to go toe to toe with them”.

“Getting a chance to spend time in a foreign country and meeting a great group of players and coaches all made for a great tournament and I was grateful to be a part of it”, he added.

Welcome to the Tigers family Baino!
