The Brisbane Tigers are proud to partner with Flagstone State Community College. Launched earlier this year in January 2025. Positioned right next door to our affiliate club, the Flagstone Tigers, this collaboration is already laying strong foundations to support youth development both on and off the field. The partnership is part of the Tigers’ ongoing commitment to grassroots development, providing local youth with structured pathways in rugby league.
The partnership forms part of the Tigers’ broader commitment to building community connections and expanding rugby league pathways. The enthusiasm from students and staff has been evident from day one.
Brisbane Tigers Pathways Manager Ryley Jacks recently visited the school and was impressed with what he saw.
“We have already been out for a couple of clinics at the school, and we’ve been blown away by the enthusiasm and engagement from the students,” Jacks said. “The kids are eager to learn and committed to improving their skills – exactly the kind of passion we love to see. Connor and the entire school community have welcomed us with open arms. We’re looking forward to building something great together.”
The partnership has been embraced by the college, with a focus on creating long-term opportunities both on and off the field.
“We have never had an opportunity like this come across our desk,” said Connor Taylor, Director of Rugby League Excellence at Flagstone State Community College. “We are pleased to partner with the Brisbane Tigers and are looking forward to the many opportunities that this partnership will offer our students. I am confident that this partnership will enable our students to build resilience and discipline on and off the pitch.”
Brisbane Tigers CEO Mitch Cook echoed the enthusiasm, highlighting the broader importance of this partnership within the region.
“Flagstone is one of the fastest-growing regions in South-East Queensland, and Flagstone State Community College plays a vital role in shaping the future of this emerging community,” Cook said. “We’re proud to partner with the college to support local youth and create genuine opportunities through sport and education.”
As this partnership continues to grow, the Tigers look forward to nurturing the next generation of rugby league talent from Flagstone State Community College.
