Over the past three years, the partnership has created a clear development pathway for young athletes within the Stretton Rugby League Program, offering opportunities to transition into representative sides such as the Harvey Norman Under 19s, Harvey Norman U17’s, Cyril Connell Cup, and Mal Meninga Cup squads.

The extended agreement will see both organizations continue to work closely to identify and nurture emerging talent, while also promoting personal growth, leadership, and community engagement through the sport.

Brisbane Tigers Pathways Manager Ryley Jacks commended the impact of the partnership on both the club and the players involved.

“This partnership is a great opportunity for our club. We’ve seen the Stretton Rugby League Program go from strength to strength over the past few years, and it’s been fantastic to welcome many of their students to the Tigers. We look forward to continuing and growing this partnership into the future.”

Brisbane Tigers CEO Mitch Cook echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the long-term vision and shared values behind the collaboration.

“Extending our partnership with Stretton reinforces the value we place on long-term community connections. It’s exciting to continue working together to inspire young people and foster a sense of belonging through rugby league.”

From the Stretton State College’s perspective, the partnership continues to be a vital pathway for aspiring players to access elite rugby league environments and take the next step in their sporting journey.

Jayden Best, Stretton State College’s Director of Sporting Excellence shared his enthusiasm for the extended partnership:

“We’re really excited to continue our partnership with the Tigers, as it provides our athletes with a genuine pathway into representative teams such as Harvey Norman, Cyril Connell, and Mal Meninga. We consistently see great development in the players we have involved with the Tigers program.”

Looking ahead, the Tigers and Stretton State College will continue to align on shared goals around development, opportunity, and connection. With a focus on both athletic performance and character-building, the partnership remains a shining example of how school and sport can work hand-in-hand to shape the next generation of rugby league talent in Queensland.

The Brisbane Tigers are looking forward to hosting Stretton State College for the first time this year at Totally Workwear Stadium for their School boys and School Girls Competitions on Tuesday the 17th of June.
