The Brisbane Tigers are proud to announce a three year affiliation with Good Counsel College, Innisfail, designed to provide student-athletes with elite coaching, development opportunities, and access to professional rugby league facilities. This collaboration aims to strengthen pathways for aspiring players while supporting growth both on and off the field.

As part of the agreement, Good Counsel College students will benefit from specialist coaching, mentorship programs, and exposure to a professional sporting environment. Coaches at the College will also receive development support from the Tigers’ experienced staff, ensuring the skills and knowledge gained extend across the school’s rugby league programs.

Brisbane Tigers CEO, Mitch Cook, commented on the new affiliation:
“We’re thrilled to partner with Good Counsel College and help nurture the next generation of rugby league talent. This is about giving young athletes the tools, guidance, and facilities they need to succeed, while also supporting the development of coaches and the broader school program.”

The partnership will see the College’s Confraternity Team gain access to the Brisbane Tigers’ stadium, training grounds, and high-performance facilities during the 2026 Confraternity Cup in Brisbane. Students will experience some of the best playing surfaces in Queensland, as well as club facilities including gyms and recovery amenities used regularly by elite athletes.

By combining professional expertise, high-quality facilities, and strong development pathways, the Brisbane Tigers and Good Counsel College are creating a program that supports aspiring rugby league players and strengthens regional talent pipelines for the future.
