Tigers stay unbeaten claiming victory over Jets
Brisbane Tigers 24 def Ipswich Jets 16
Sunday 29 June, 2025 – North Ipswich Reserve

The Brisbane Tigers have extended their unbeaten start to the 2025 BMD Premiership season, coming from behind to claim a 24–16 victory over the Ipswich Jets in Round 3 at North Ipswich Reserve.

In a physical and fast-paced contest, the Tigers trailed midway through both halves but produced a composed final 30 minutes to run down the Jets and secure their third straight win of the year.

Evelyn Roberts got the visitors on the board early, slicing through the line in the 8th minute and converting her own try to give Brisbane a 6–0 lead.

The Jets responded with tries to Ella-Jaye Harrison-Leaunoa and Tarleah Fisher-Pearson to edge ahead 10–6 at the break.

Brisbane found momentum early in the second half, with Tahlia Marshall levelling the scores. Roberts added the extras to restore the lead.

Courtney Robinson then stepped up with back-to-back tries in the 47th and 54th minutes—both the result of strong support play and sharp footwork out wide—stretching the Tigers’ lead to 20–10.

Ipswich threatened a late comeback with a second try to Harrison-Leaunoa, but the Tigers sealed the result in the 65th minute when Saupo-Mina Toeleiu powered over to cap off a dominant back end of the match.

Roberts, Robinson and Narikah Orchard were among the Tigers’ best, while the forward rotation laid a strong platform through the middle.

The result sees Brisbane remain undefeated after three rounds, moving up to second on the ladder.

Next Sunday the Brisbane Tigers will face off against Souths Logan Magpies who are currently sitting 1st on the leader board.
