The Brisbane Tigers are pleased to announce the signing of Joe Stimson, for the 2025 season.
The 29-year-old prop has over 100 games worth of experience in the NRL, having played at Melbourne Storm, Canterbury Bulldogs and the Gold Coast Titans.
Stimson said, when asked about why he joined the Tigers, “My interest in joining the Tigers grew over the past couple of years while competing against them in the Queensland Cup, particularly when I was playing for the Falcons and Ipswich. The Tigers are a proud club, and when Mitch Cook reached out to me with the opportunity to join the team, I was eager to take the chance. While NRL offers weren’t forthcoming, I see the Tigers as a strong pathway to further develop as a player and potentially return to the NRL.
“I’m particularly excited about the young talent coming through the ranks. Having attended a few training sessions, I’ve seen firsthand the skill and potential within the squad. I’m looking forward to competing alongside them and, of course, working towards another championship win for the Tigers.”
Tigers Coach Matt Church said “to be able to secure someone of Joe’s experience to the Tigers is a huge benefit to our club and Hostplus Cup team. Having worked with Joe before, I am excited by the calibre of person he is and knew what a great fit he is for us at the Tigers. Very excited to welcome Joe to the depth we already have in our 2025 squad”.
Brisbane Tigers CEO Mitch Cook said that the Club is thrilled to welcome Joe Stimson to the Brisbane Tigers family.
“Joe is a highly talented and experienced player whose skills and professionalism will be a tremendous asset to our club. His signing reflects our commitment to building a strong and competitive team as we strive for success both on and off the field. Joe’s leadership qualities and work ethic will no doubt inspire his teammates and excite our loyal fans. We look forward to seeing him in action and contributing to our future success.”
