Brisbane Tigers congratulates junior representative, Joe McGahan on signing a development contract with the Brisbane Broncos.
McGahan, a talented centre, has been on the Broncos radar after a standout campaign in the Brisbane Tigers Mal Meninga Cup side, resulting in a call-up to the club’s NRLQ squad, where he played 7 games this season.
McGahan began his junior career at Carina JRLFC, before making his way into the Brisbane Tigers’ Cyril Connell Cup team in 2023. From 2023 through to 2026, Joe has proudly represented the Brisbane Tigers as a junior representative player, including 14 games with the club’s Mal Meninga Cup team across the 2025 and 2026 seasons.
His efforts did not go unnoticed, with McGahan capping off his 2026 Mal Meninga Cup season by sweeping three major awards: Best Back, Player of the Year, and Most Promising Player.
