Lang Inducted into the Queensland Sport Hall of Fame

A massive congratulations to Tigers and Queensland icon John Lang, who was inducted into the Queensland Sport Hall of Fame, following a decorated career as a player and coach.

Tiger # 606, Lang played 200 first grade games for the Tiger, winning premierships in 1972, 1977 and 1978. Lang later coached the Tigers to premierships in 1983 and 1991.

Representing Queensland on 19 occasions from 1971 to 1980, Lang represented New South Wales whilst playing for the Eastern Suburbs Roosters, before playing for Queensland in the inaugural State of Origin match at Lang Park in 1980.

Lang played three tests for Australia.

Lang had a decorated coaching career, which included 153 games with the Tigers, 220 with the Cronulla Sharks, 125 with the Penrith Panthers, 48 with the South Sydney Rabbitohs, and 5 tests in charge of the Australian Kangaroos Super League side.

Lang also led the Panthers to a premiership in 2003.

In 2022, Lang was selected in the Brisbane Rugby League Team of the Century.
