A review from Suzuki Brisbane Tigers’ Hostplus Cup coach Matt Church:

“It was a really good team performance and really happy that we put it together as a group.

“Our starting middles were really good, I think we defended really well in that first half and set it up.

“I think the second half was a much more polished performance from us. We wanted to build pressure and I thought we let Norths off the hook a bit in the first half, but pleasing to apply that pressure and get results on the back of it.

“It was always going to take a little bit to gel and find our natural groove but we are starting to really see the identity of our footy side. I thought we were really good in terms of our resilience again today.”

– Matt Church

HASTINGS DEERING CUP

Round 4: Suzuki Brisbane Tigers 22 def Norths Devils 4

A review from Suzuki Brisbane Tigers’ Hastings Deering Cup coach Mark Gliddon:

I was really impressed by our defence. We only leaked four points, so that was probably the best we have defended all year so far.

But, it was the worst we have attacked so far this season as our attention to detail in attack was poor.

Even though we have a bye this weekend we will still train.

We will be at CBUS Stadium on the Gold Coast on Saturday for a session with the female State of Origin team, which should be really good for them.”
