Round 15: Suzuki Brisbane Tigers v Ipswich Jets
Match Kick off:
7.00pm
Date:
Friday, 11th August 2023
Location:
Totally Workwear Stadium, Langlands Park

The penultimate round of the 2023 Hastings Deering Colts season sees our Tigers host the Ipswich Jets in a rare Friday night match at Totally Workwear Stadium.

Our Tigers sit level on points with ladder-leaders Tweed Seagulls and could potentially finish the round back on top if they beat the Jets and other results fall in their favour.

A preview from Suzuki Brisbane Tigers’ Hastings Deering Premiership coach Mark Gliddon:

“Souths Logan are a pretty good attacking side, and they have put on points against Burleigh and Wynnum who are both very good sides.

So for them to only score six points against us last week, which came from a kick that hit the goal posts, was really pleasing.

The Ipswich Jets are a big side, especially their front rower Max Banditt who is a massive human being and runs 160 metres every game.

He is someone we will need to contain.

Both our halves are pretty good players and I think they will stand up this week and manage the game for us.

If we get the win we finish in the top four of the ladder, which has been our goal all season.

The Jets sit in last spot, and we know they do not want to get the wooden spoon.

Sooner or later they are going to put on a decent performance and we just have to make sure we get the two points, that is the most important thing.”
