The Suzuki Brisbane Tigers are deeply saddened by the recent passing of former President of Eastern Suburbs Rugby League Past Players and Officials Association, Mr Ronald Rogers.
Ron, 89, sadly passed away on Saturday 21st January 2023. Our sincere condolences are extended to Marian Rogers and her family on the passing of their beloved husband, and father.
Ron was a member of the Easts Tigers first grade teams in the mid-fifties, and served as President of Eastern Suburbs Rugby League Past Players and Officials Association Inc. from 1999 until 2003, and was the recipient of the A.J. Sparks memorial “Arthur Sparks Badge” in 2002.
Association Foundation member, Ron (badge no. 5), together with several other “Old Boys”, enthusiastically supported the publication of the book “Easts Boys Forever” proud memories of the Eastern Suburbs RLFC, The First 75 years, authored by Graham Anderson and printed in 2008.
Throughout his full life he was an ardent supporter of The Tigers, and will be sorely missed by all whom knew him, as our Club moves into its 90th year in 2023.
All whom knew he and Marian and their family are invited to attend.
