Former New Zealand Kiwi and Wests Tigers hooker Manaia Cherrington will join the Suzuki Brisbane Tigers for the 2022 season.
Cherrington, 27, was a member of the Redcliffe Dolphins Intrust Super Cup side for the past season.
In 2021, he scored 2 tries, had 5 offloads and made 173 tackles (93.5% efficiency) from 11 games.
The Wentworthville Magpies and Quakers Hill Destroyers junior will link up with former Coach JB (Jon Buchanan) after being a part of his Souths Logan Magpies Intrust Super Cup squad in 2018 and 2019.
“I’ve played under JB before and I know what he’s about…he’s a very honest person”, said Cherrington.
“I’ve always had a soft spot for the Tigers, and not only that the opportunity to play some decent footy is one of the main reasons of my move.
“The Tigers are a strong club and I hope I can add to that.
Speaking of his 2022 season aspirations, Cherrington said “I just want to play good footy, be injury free and just enjoy my footy again”.
Welcome to the Tigers family Cherro!
