VOWLES REPLACES WRIGHT AS TIGERS BHP PREMIERSHIP COACH

The Suzuki Brisbane Tigers are pleased to advise that Adrian Vowles will coach the Tigers 2021 BHP Premiership team in 2021.

Vowles will replace the Tigers inaugural women’s coach Duane Rehua. Broncos NRLW’s Kelvin Wright agreed to coach the side but had to withdraw after accepting a role with the Queensland Rugby League.

The current Fiji Bulikulas Head Coach, Adrian had an extensive playing career, playing 79 NRL games with the Gold Coast Seagulls and the North Queensland Cowboys, and 192 UK Superleague games with the Castleford Tigers, Leeds Rhinos and Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.

The 2015 Australian Jillaroos Assistant Coach, Adrian coached the Queensland 2017 Women’s team.

Vowles said he was very excited to be given the role as Head Coach of the Tigers Women’s Team for 2021.

“It’s a great club with plenty of history and a club that is right behind the women’s game” Vowles added.

Tigers CEO Brian said he was very happy to have Adrian join the Club.

“Adrian has a wealth of playing and coaching experience. He is a professional coach who is extremely passionate about the women’s game. I have no doubts he will do a fantastic job with our squad”, Torpy added.

The squad will commence training at Totally Workwear Stadium, Langlands Park on Tuesday 8 December at 6pm.

An information session will be held on Thursday 3 December at 6pm at Easts Juniors, WJ Scott Park, corner of Harold & Rita Streets, Holland Park.

All current and new players are welcome.
