TIGERS APPOINT 2017 FOGS COLTS CHALLENGE AND MAL MENINGA CUP COACHES

Easts Tigers are pleased to announce the re-appointment of Ian Gough as the Club’s FOGS Colts Challenge and Scott Tronc as the Club’s Mal Meninga Cup coaches for the 2017 season.

The Tiger’s Mal Meninga side progressed through to the State Quarter Finals in 2016, whilst the FOGS Colts currently sit in third on the ladder.

Gough has progressed through the Tiger’s junior development system, holding Head Coach and Assistant Coach roles in both Cyril Connell and Mal Meninga Cup.

Easts Tigers CEO Brian Torpy said Ian has done a tremendous job with the Colts squad in his first season as Head Coach and the Club has no doubt Ian will do a great job with the 2017 squad.

“Ian’s strength is his man management skills, but he is also a good technical coach”, Torpy said.

Likewise, the Club is delighted to see Tronc retain the Mal Meninga Cup Head Coach role. Tronc coached the Tiger’s to a FOGS Colts premiership in 2009 and has since worked with the Brisbane Broncos and the Queensland Academy of Sport.

“Scott is a very experienced and talented coach, who has the ability to bring the out the best in the playing group. He is a straight-shooter and has a strong development focus. The Club has no doubt he will do a good job with the 2017 squad”, Torpy said.
