Storm’s NYC Thunderbolts will look to make it back-to-back wins to start the season when they take on the Gold Coast Titans this Saturday at Suzuki Stadium, Langland’s Park.

The Under-20s side will look to build from their 44-24 comeback win over the Dragons last Sunday.

Head Coach Eric Smith has made one change to the team from the Round 1 win, with Charlie Galo moving onto the bench to face the Titans.

Sunshine Coast local product and winger Nate McGavin will also look to back up his man of the match performance against the Dragons.

The Thunderbolts will be up against a Gold Coast side looking to bounce back from their 34-18 defeat at the hands of the Knights in Round 1.

As good as the Round 1 comeback was, Smith sees plenty of room for improvement for his young players.

“Definitely our start needs to be better, not only our start but our ball control,” he said.

“In 20’s football momentum is a pretty big factor in who wins these games so if we are going to be completing at 50 per cent again we are not going to give ourselves much chance to win games.

“We also want to be a lot better defensively, the way we defended in patches on the weekend isn’t what we are about, we know we are a lot better than that.

“We are going to be looking to tighten the screws in those two areas this week.”

The game will kick-off at 3.15pm this Saturday at Suzuki Stadium.
