JAVARN WHITE JOINS TIGERS

Easts Tigers have today announced the signing of 2011 Courier Mail Medal winner Javarn White on a two-year contract. The electric fullback and proven try scorer returns to the game after six months away, time spent with his young family.

Javarn said that he had “contemplated playing local footy in Rockhampton, but I still have goals I want to achieve in the Cup”.

Following some discussions with Tigers Coach Scott Sipple, it was an easy decision to move back to Brisbane.

“I’m really enjoying getting to know all the guys, they have been very welcoming and I’m excited for the season to start.”

White had three strong seasons with the Ipswich Jets and two with the Norths Devils, during which time he won the competition’s player-of-the-year award, and also spent time with the Sydney Roosters in their under 20’s.

Coach Scott Sipple said “Javarn is an exciting and strong player. He is a definite try scorer and adds a hint of x-factor to our team.”

The Tigers play their first trial game on Saturday 6 February against the Ipswich Jets.
