TIGERS EXTEND SIPPLE’S CONTRACT AS HEAD COACH

Easts Tigers have extended the appointment of Scott Sipple as the Club’s Head Coach until the end of the 2018 season.

Sipple, amassed 200 Queensland Cup games for the Club and played in the Tigers 1997 and 2004 grand final sides.

Following his retirement in 2008, Sipple coached junior grades at Easts Juniors, before taking on the role of the Club’s FOGS A Grade coach in 2012, winning triple premierships in 2012, 2013 and 2014.

The Tigers are currently sitting in 5th spot on the Intrust Super Cup ladder.

Sipple said “I’m very pleased to be re-appointed for another two years”.

I would like to thank Brian and the East’s Board for putting their faith in me and giving me their full support.

We’ve got a great playing group and building strong culture and I feel very fortunate to have played and now coach this great Club, Sipple said.

Tigers CEO Brian Torpy said, “The Board has been very impressed with what Scott has achieved since his appointment, particularly with limited input into our playing roster and the Club’s long list of injuries”.

Scott has a coaching philosophy which is centred around hard work, dedication, accountability and honesty, which sits perfectly with our Club values, Torpy said.
